Fractional laser is one of the most important technical developments in dermatology in recent years. ErYag lasers produce invisible light at a wavelength of 2,940 nm. These laser systems are absorbed by water in the skin. In fractional lasers, a certain part of the shot area is affected. This rate can be set as 5%, 10%, 20%. Tissue renews itself easily due to the intact skin areas. They are called fractional (partial) because they cause damage in the form of columns in the skin.

The damage created in the skin enables the self-renewal of the skin by stimulating the synthesis of collagen from fibroblasts. The advantage of partial application over conventional lasers is that the recovery time is much shorter. Another advantage is that side effects such as scar formation and stain formation due to the procedure are much less. The number of fractional laser sessions varies according to the patient and the procedure. After 3-6 sessions for acne scars, 3-6 sessions for skin cracks, 1 session for skin moles, 2-5 sessions for wrinkle treatment, 1-2 sessions per year can be repeated as maintenance.
