Laser epilation causes permanent damage to the hair follicle, the concentrated laser energy destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding skin and tissue. The most frequently applied areas are armpits, bikini line, legs and arms in women;, the nape, neck and back region in men. The target in laser epilation is 80-90% reduction in hairs. Even it varies from patient to patient, the result of the treatment can be sobtained  with an average of 6-8 sessions for armpit, leg and bikini in female patients and an average of 8-10 sessions in male patients. Session intervals should be arranged as 1.5-2 months.

Each patient may experience short-term redness of the skin and edema in the hair follicles after the application. This side effect disappears within an hour. It may take a few days on very sensitive skins. In some types of laser, in dark and bronze skin types, there may be color changes, water collection and crusting. Such problems are rare and subside within a few days. Black or brown hairs respond best to treatment. White and gray hairs do not respond to treatment.
